Senior & Youth Weekend Round Up

The 1st XV welcomed Morriston to Fairwood Lane for the Smiths Homes match day fixture .  It was the men in green and white who took the spoils with a final score of 36-19, try scorers for the Uplands were Daf Lewis with two with Peter Anson, Dan Bennett, Ben Ghose & Alex Wadling.  The rest of the points came from the boot of Peter Anson who added three conversions.

In all fairness to the young Morriston squad they never gave up and scored the last try of the game. With the grit and determination, they showed they will no doubt soon improve their current league position.

The ND John Man of the Match was wing Ben Ghose.

The Youth also at home faced Senghenydd in the last sixteen of the WRU Youth Bowl.  However, it wasn’t their day, the lead changed hands several times during the game which seemed to go on forever with over ninety minutes on the clock as opposed to the seventy normally played for youth games.  The final score being 29-31 with Senghenydd crossing the line in the last play of the game,  tough one to take but this group of players will dust themselves off and be stronger for the defeat.  Try scorers were Sam Grounds with two with Ollie Philpott and Harri Jones one each there was also a penalty try and a conversion by Steff Davies.
