A week ago today our Youth team product and 1st XV full back Dexter Ryde left the UK bound for Nepal. Dexter has been selected by Raleigh International Trust to join a team of young people travelling to Nepal to work unpaid for three months. The work will focus on raising awareness and delivering peer to peer education and skills training in key areas of community resilience, these include water, sanitation and hygiene, entrepreneurship development and community-based natural resource management. Anyone wishing to read Dexter's full story or donate to his Just Giving page can do so via the following link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dexter-ryde
All at SURFC wish you all the very best Dexter in your venture and look forward to your safe return in time for the Pughy 9s in May. Pictured is Dexter the weekend before he left being presented with a club tie.by Senior Team Manager Ashley Jenkins
