Despite losing by the same overall score as against Vardre, this was a much better performance- players once again looked like they were enjoying themselves and although I've recorded the three ten minute games as one lost, two drawn, one of those draws only happened because I allowed Waunarlwydd to play on after an obvious forward pass at our try line.
Thank you to Charlie, Joe, Harri, Bleddyn, Macs, Tom, Arthur, Gabe, Noah and Matilda for the effort you put in today. It was very much appreciated. I have two cherished moments today. The first was seeing one of our very inexperienced players going from running backwards in the first game to running forward straight through four opponents in the last. The second fantastic moment was watching a player ambling off on some vague diagonal from a restart, being chased down by a Waunarlwydd player and me thinking "oh no. There goes the first tag!" Our player then sidestepped off right foot, left foot, into the gap behind the opponent and shifted up three gears in speed to go through the gap that had been created. It was stunning to watch.

I was pleased to see so few players running sideways or backwards but I think that we need to find ways to encourage you not to always run along the sidelines because there's not much space there. The touch line can be an extra defender. Next season you might just be nudged over the line and turn the ball over.
