Fixture

Thank you to Oliver, Tomos, Ryan, Lucien, Lewie, Reuben, Rocky, Macs, Louis, George, Cedric and Bleddyn for playing today. Waunarlwydd had a team of 15 under 8s and their under 7s had already played, despite telling us that they would play our under 7s at the same time as our under 8s so they offered to play our combined 7s and 8s in a 12-a-side game. This meant that only a few of you had played anywhere near as much rugby as The Waunarlwydd team. You should all feel very proud of yourselves to only lose by two tries over three ten minute periods of rugby. Well done all of you.

You showed some great running, with several of your tries coming from people running into space and along the touch line. You were unlucky not to score another try because one of you ran along the touch line but stopped when you thought you had been tagged although you hadn't. I was also pleased to see lots of effort in tagging, that is why the score was so close.

Things for us to work on with you all:
- running forward when you are given the ball. There were several of you who stood still as the other team got closer to you and then passed to someone else really close to you. Instead of that, I'd like you to run forward with the ball. If you can see space then run into that, but if you can't then run forward anyway. If you get tagged it doesn't matter. Have a go!
- passing to your team-mates. There were several passes which were too soft to reach the person to whom you were passing or too hard or high for him to catch. The ball ended up on the floor several times because of this.
- more practice tagging. We need to get you trying to tag with two hands, one either side of your opponent. This will help you get ready for tackling.
